Job Introduction
Pinnacle Group are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Total FM division, conducting maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of school buildings, mechanical and gas services, associated systems, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and to participate in a rotating shift pattern and the out of hours on call rota.
You will be joining our Total FM team based in Slough. The Total FM team provides integrated asset management and maintenance services across the education, leisure, corporate, health and living sectors to ensure facilities operate at their best.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, confidence in carrying out PPM tasks, plumbing repairs, and HVAC maintenance, while reliably performing safety checks across fire systems and emergency equipment, using CAFM systems effectively, and communicating professionally with school staff, site managers, and FM teams.
This is a full time role with a shift pattern of 8AM-4PM Monday-Friday.

Key responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and across mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Complete remedial plumbing works, including minor repairs, adjustments, and routine fixes.
- Perform HVAC inspections, diagnose basic faults, and complete tasks such as changing filters on air‑conditioning units.
- Conduct all required routine safety checks, ensuring compliance with statutory and site standards.
- Regular resting of fire alarms, water temperature monitoring, and associated safety controls.
- Checking of emergency lights, fire extinguishers, fire blankets and communal lights
- Liaise professionally with school staff, site managers, and FM teams, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
Key requirements:
- Recognized mechanical engineering qualification
- Good understanding of all aspects of Mechanical & Electrical systems.
- Experience delivering PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) across mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Competent in remedial plumbing, including minor repairs and installations.
- Ability to carry out HVAC inspections, filter changes, and basic AC maintenance.
- Good knowledge of health & safety
- Experience using CAFM systems to receive jobs, update records, and close work orders.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills to liaise professionally with school staff, site managers, and FM teams.
