Performance Reporting Business Partner

Job Introduction

Pinnacle Group is looking for an experienced Data and Reporting Business Partner to join our Homes division and take ownership of reporting across the business, delivering accurate, automated, and insightful data that enables informed decision-making for both internal stakeholders and clients.  In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain Power BI data models and dashboards across all Homes contracts, departments, and divisions, translating key business and client KPIs into trusted reporting solutions. Combining strong technical expertise with a business partnering approach, you will work closely with operational leaders and client contacts to create well-governed, automated data products that drive performance, support strategic objectives, and ensure regulatory and statutory reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.

Our Homes Division delivers trusted housing management services across Affordable, Private Rented and Leasehold properties. We work with local authorities, registered providers and investors to support thriving communities.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced data and reporting professional with advanced Power BI expertise, a strong understanding of data governance and automation, and a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. You will be highly analytical and detail-oriented, with experience delivering performance reporting, improving data quality, and providing meaningful recommendations that support operational and strategic decision-making. Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, you will be able to communicate complex information clearly and build trusted relationships across the business.

This is a hybrid role with travel required to Holborn, London.

Who we are

Pinnacle Group is a market-leading national provider of housing, neighbourhood and workplace services. With over thirty years of experience, we deliver expert, place-based management and maintenance solutions that enhance the everyday lives of the communities we serve.

We’re a people-first organisation with a values-driven culture that has stood the test of time -reflected in the way we care for both our employees and our customers.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who not only meets the key criteria below but also embraces our core values – Trust, Respect, Involve, Challenge, and Deliver Excellence – and is committed to earning and maintaining the confidence of our clients and communities.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting and dashboard delivery

  • Design, build and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports and dashboards covering income collection, housing management, customer contact, repairs, complaints and asset management.
  • Own end-to-end production of recurring client and internal performance packs, ensuring they are accurate, high quality and circulated in good time for members to review ahead of meetings.
  • Deliver reporting to a consistent standard — documented definitions, version control, agreed refresh schedules and clear ownership — so outputs are repeatable and not dependent on any one individual.

Data engineering and automation

  • Build and maintain Power Query (M) transformations and dataflows, replacing manual and spreadsheet-based processes with automated, scheduled refreshes.
  • Develop DAX measures and calculation logic at the correct grain, including time intelligence, and performance-tune models to keep report load times acceptable.

Analysis and insight

  • Analyse underlying trends, variance and root causes, and issue findings and recommendations to key stakeholders as directed.
  • Provide the analysis behind performance conversations — not just what the numbers are, but why they have moved and what should be done about it.

Data quality and governance

  • Work with operational leads to improve cleanliness and integrity of the data held, including profiling, exception reporting and reconciliation between systems.
  • Design and deliver training and guidance to operational teams to reduce incorrectly entered data at the point of capture.
  • Maintain a documented data dictionary and KPI definition library so measures are calculated consistently across contracts.
  • Apply appropriate access controls, including row-level security, so client and personal data is only visible to those entitled to see it.

Stakeholder and business partnering

  • Act as key point of contact for an operational lead in relation to reporting of performance across a service area.
  • Develop, promote and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, translating technical detail into language non-technical audiences can act on.

Key Requirements

Essential — Technical

  • Advanced Power BI: semantic modelling (star schema), DAX including time intelligence and filter context manipulation, Power Query (M), workspace and app management, deployment pipelines, and row-level security.
  • Advanced Excel: Power Query, pivot models, lookup and array functions.
  • Sound grasp of data modelling and warehousing concepts — fact and dimension design, grain, slowly changing dimensions, incremental refresh.
  • Demonstrable experience of automating a manual reporting process end to end, from source extract through to published output.

Essential — Commercial and Behavioural

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully operating in an equivalent role analysing and managing data, developing monitoring and reporting on business performance to achieve best in class performance.
  • Ability to engage and influence at a senior level, both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly numerate and detail oriented, with excellent financial, analytical, problem solving and IT skills.
  • Strong work ethic and high standards — committed to delivering on our “best in class” ambition.
  • Understanding of UK GDPR and the handling of personal and special category data in a resident-facing context.

Desirable

  • Microsoft certification: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate), DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) or DP-900 (Azure Data Fundamentals).
  • Experience of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse or an equivalent cloud data platform.
  • Experience of fuzzy or probabilistic matching for address and property-level data reconciliation.
  • Power Automate, Power Apps or similar for workflow and structured data capture.
  • Experience working with housing management systems and their underlying data structures (e.g. Qube/MRI, Northgate, Plentific, Apex).
  • Experience of working in the social housing sector, with working knowledge of housing legislation and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory reporting landscape for example: Tenant Satisfaction Measures, Statistical Data Return, the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code, and the direction of travel on Awaab’s Law and damp and mould reporting.
